Compliance update: Online CPD course delivered by Tolley
Friday 11th February 9.00am – 12.00pm
In the first of a series of accredited CPD courses running throughout 2022, delivered in conjunction with leading training provider Tolley, we look at how businesses should remain compliant as HMRC looks to claw back COVID-19 grants.
As the Government looks to reduce its budget deficit, attention will turn to compliance activities by HMRC. In 2020, the priority was to get funds into the hands of those whose income and businesses were affected by the coronavirus pandemic. As the economy slowly recovers, HMRC will be casting a critical eye over the payments made and will be checking their validity. This session will look at how businesses should remain compliant as HMRC gains extra powers to investigate individuals and businesses.
The focus of the seminar will be on:
- the pitfalls in claiming furlough funds and other support
- HMRC’s powers and what clients should do if they discover they have made a mistake
- other powers acquired by HMRC, notably in terms of public licenses
- how to improve and focus your client’s compliance activities and how to deal with investigations should they become the subject of one
Through the Hub, we deliver a programme of training and events, of which this is one.
All our courses are free to attend.
