Our Restructuring and Advisory Division bolsters Scottish practice with senior hire in Edinburgh
Cross-border advisory firm our Restructuring and Advisory Division has appointed restructuring expert, Craig Morrison as a managing director in its Scottish practice. Craig will be based from our Restructuring and Advisory Division’s new premises in Edinburgh which is the firms second Scottish office and 18th in the UK.
Craig joins our Restructuring and Advisory Division from a national restructuring practice, where he held a senior role for nine years, prior to which he held senior roles in the restructuring and recovery division of a UK mid-tier accountancy firm. Craig’s experience includes the undertaking of independent business reviews on behalf of a range of lenders, as well as advisory engagements. He is primarily focused on formal corporate insolvency assignments across a wide variety of sectors. Most recently he was involved in the administrations of a large grain supplier and of a cinema group.
Craig’s appointment follows the appointment of Alistair Dickson, who was appointed as a managing director in the firm’s Glasgow office in April. The firm has experienced growing demand for its services as ongoing economic uncertainty continues to create challenging trading conditions for businesses across Scotland.
Craig Morrison said: “I am delighted to have joined our Restructuring and Advisory Division at an exciting point in its journey, as it looks to its next phase of growth which will be accelerated by the private equity investment received earlier in the year.
I have been impressed at how the firm has simultaneously developed its service offering and footprint to become a leading advisory firm both in the UK and overseas.”
Our Restructuring and Advisory Division chief executive officer, Carl Jackson said: “I am very pleased to welcome Craig to our Restructuring and Advisory Division as we launch our second Scottish office. Over the last year we have experienced high demand for our high quality, specialist advisory services and the opening of an office in Edinburgh is in direct response to the demand notably from businesses in and around the Edinburgh region.
Scotland is one of a number of areas of focus for us and I anticipate we’ll have more announcements in the coming weeks and months, as we continue to strengthen our team to better serve Scottish businesses, their management teams and their stakeholders.”
