Friday 18th September 9.00am – 12.00pm

Our ninth accredited CPD course of 2026, delivered in conjunction with leading training provider Tolley, takes place on Friday 18th September.

One of the Government’s stated objectives is to encourage investment and growth in UK businesses. In this respect, the tax system has a huge role to play. Through the use of reliefs and administrative easements, outgoings can be reduced and resource efficiency improved, with the consequential positive impact on profitability and financial flexibility.

In this webinar, we will examine the available UK tax reliefs particularly aimed at owner managed businesses, including, but not limited to:

This three-hour course broadly covers:

  • Reliefs relating to capital and overhead expenditure, such as capital allowances and small business rates relief
  • Reliefs relating to employment such as key exemptions, NIC employment allowance, apprenticeship funding, and refund of statutory payments
  • Fund raising reliefs, such as SEIS
  • Administrative and compliance initiatives such as cash basis, VAT flat rate schemes, annual accounting for VAT, quarterly accounting for PAYE and simplified expenses

We will also consider how to start creating a workable and robust strategy to maximise use of reliefs, as well as looking ahead to expected future changes.

This session is aimed at anyone engaged in or advising small or owner managed businesses.

The event will take place virtually on Zoom. All our courses are free to attend and delegates qualify for three hours of structured CPD*.

*Please note, CPD not available if watching a recording of the webinar on demand.
